A venerable shrine that is said to have originated in the 2nd year of Wado (709).
The "Honyama Shinji", a ceremony held every year on the 4th Saturday and Sunday of September at the annual autumn festival, is famous for pushing floats off the mountain slope to pray for good harvests.
At the shrine, you will also find "Hana Chozu", a display of flowers floating on surfaces of water bowls. It is a popular photo spot.
The limited edition Goshuin (red ink stamp) whose design changes every month is also popular.
